Job Description
The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Senior Manager in Belgian & Luxembourg LOC (Local Operating Company) is the point of contact for the LOC organization and reports into Head E&C BENELUX. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking and operational expertise. An effective E&C Senior Manager must be solution-oriented and collaborative, with a curiosity that drives innovative thinking and new approaches to challenges. They should be active listeners who seek out and integrate diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive environment. In addition to being adaptable to change, they must be capable of and at times lead with courage to guide the organization to shape a culture of integrity and accountability.
- The E&C Senior Manager BE/LU is business partnering with the LOC Leadership Team in alignment with our Values of Takeda-ism (Integrity, Fairness, Honesty, and Perseverance) and ensuring decisions and actions are based on Patient-Trust-Reputation and Business, in that order.
- As a member of the BENELUX Ethics & Compliance Team, the E&C Senior Manager is expected to actively participate in the BENELUX E&C Community contributing to the evolution of the strategy. A key member of the CSEE/BENELUX E&C community and project / program teams as agreed with their E&C Leader.
- As the Belgian & Luxembourg E&C Senior Manager, they are responsible for ensuring effective implementation of the Takeda E&C Program within Belgium/Luxembourg, including:
- Catalyzing a Values-Based Culture and shaping the organizational mindset around PTRB to firmly embed ethical decision-making principles
- Leading with integrity, building engagement and creating a safe space for LOC employees to be their authentic selves, do their best work and speak up when they have ideas or concerns, and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment by promoting open dialogue and valuing different perspectives
- Educating and enabling the team (e.g., through Policy and SOP implementation, Training and Communications)
- Managing risk by supporting identification, assessing likelihood and impact, facilitating risk tolerance decisions, approving mitigation plans for high-risk activities and executing the monitoring
- Handling issues that arise (e.g., from audits or complaints), conducting investigations and ensuring remediations are well implemented
- Representing Takeda externally by participating in relevant local industry association meetings and initiatives
Experience
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience with commercial, access or medical experience preferred
- Ethics & Compliance program implementation and execution experience
- Risk management experience (i.e., leading a cross-functional team to manage risks: identify, assess and define mitigations)
- Experience working in multi-functional, multi-cultural teams
Knowledge
- Familiarity with key laws, regulations and industry standards including but not limited to: Bribery and Corruption, Privacy, Sanctions, Anti-trust, Promotional compliance, Human Rights, Third-Party Risk Management)
- Familiarity with the EFPIA and local relevant Codes
- Understanding of key culture concepts: values-based decision making, psychological safety, speak up
- Understanding of the core elements of an effective compliance program and the latest regulatory / enforcement agency guidance (e.g., DOJ/OIG, EFPIA, IFPMA)
- Understanding principles of risk management: identification, assessment and mitigation
- Understanding of the Pharma product life cycle and go-to-market models (e.g., access, distribution, real-world evidence, etc)
