Job Responsibilities:

Objetivo del Puesto

Liderar técnicamente el diseño, desarrollo, validación, optimización y ciclo de vida completo de herramentales complejos (moldes, troqueles, dies, fixtures y tooling especializado), garantizando su desempeño, confiabilidad y rentabilidad. Fungir como referente técnico en lanzamientos, cambios de ingeniería y resolución de fallas críticas en producción, asegurando la continuidad operativa y el cumplimiento de estándares automotrices.

Responsabilidades Críticas (No negociables)
  • Diseñar, desarrollar y optimizar tooling complejo de alta precisión (moldes, troqueles, dies, fixtures), integrando criterios de manufacturabilidad, estampado y GD&T avanzado.
  • Gestionar el ciclo de vida completo del herramental: diseño, construcción, validación, liberación, mantenimiento, mejora continua y fin de vida.
  • Liderar validaciones técnicas, corridas de prueba y actividades de tryout en planta.
  • Ejecutar, documentar y evaluar cambios de ingeniería (Engineering Changes) durante fases de lanzamiento y producción.
  • Realizar análisis técnico–financiero de inversiones en herramentales (ROI, payback, costo-beneficio) y justificar decisiones con sustento económico.
  • Reducir scrap, defectos y tiempos de ciclo mediante rediseño, mejora o estandarización de tooling.
  • Coordinar, auditar y validar técnicamente a proveedores nacionales e internacionales de tooling.
  • Participar activamente en APQP, PPAP y FMEA, desempeñándose como responsable técnico del herramental asignado.
  • Proveer soporte técnico especializado ante fallas críticas, no conformidades o paros por herramental.
  • Asegurar que los herramentales cumplan con criterios de formabilidad, robustez, manufacturabilidad y durabilidad.
  • Elaborar documentación técnica, reportes de validación, análisis de fallas y planes de acción.
Requisitos Indispensables
  • Ingeniería Mecánica, Mecatrónica, Manufactura o carrera afín.
  • Inglés avanzado, capaz de sostener reuniones técnicas en entornos globales.
  • Experiencia sólida en diseño, construcción y mejora de tooling en industria automotriz o manufactura de alto volumen.
  • Experiencia comprobable en lanzamientos de nuevos programas y ramp-ups.
  • Dominio avanzado de GD&T, interpretación de planos, tolerancias y criterios de manufactura (comprobable).
  • Experiencia práctica con manufactura CNC, procesos de maquinado y conocimiento funcional de CAD/CAE.
  • Experiencia liderando proyectos de tooling o de lanzamiento.
Competencias técnicas
  • Dominio de software de diseño y modelado como VISI, Inventor o SolidWorks.
  • Capacidad para realizar estudios de formability (formabilidad) para componentes estampados.
  • Experiencia en procesos de Roll Forming.
  • Experiencia en el diseño de brackets automotrices y componentes para procesos de estampado en frío.
  • Conocimiento en análisis de deformaciones, springback, compensación y simulación de estampado.
  • Familiaridad con criterios de soldadura, ensamble y manufactura automotriz.

Skills Required

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced English proficiency for technical meetings in global environments
  • Solid experience designing, building, and improving tooling in the automotive or high-volume manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated experience with new program launches and production ramp-ups
  • Advanced GD&T, drawing interpretation, tolerances, and manufacturing criteria knowledge
  • Practical experience with CNC manufacturing and machining processes
  • Functional knowledge of CAD/CAE
  • Experience leading tooling or launch projects
  • Advanced proficiency with VISI, Inventor, or SolidWorks
  • Experience conducting formability studies for stamped components
  • Experience with Roll Forming processes
