Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst for eSourcing is part of our ITW Strategic Sourcing Center of Excellence, a team which supports Enterprise-wide Sourcing initiatives. This Analyst will work closely with the seven ITW business Segments, the Category Teams for Direct and Indirect, and across various Corporate functions, to deliver on their Strategic Sourcing needs. 

Strong candidates must be proactive, motivated, organized, and work well within a fast-paced group. This position plays a critical role in ITW´s $700M e-Sourcing program across the Enterprise. In this role you will also participate in upfront strategy discussions with the seven business Segments, Category teams, as well as pricing and contract negotiations with suppliers. You will be offering advice to our internal stakeholders and assist external suppliers with the online e-Sourcing tool (Jaggaer). Candidates will need to build strong relationships to effectively understand internal stakeholders’ requests for project tasks and management by the e-Sourcing team and prioritize the work to be completed.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and execute e-Sourcing events (RFx events and auctions) from start to finish, in close alignment with internal stakeholders (our ITW Segments and Category Teams), and ensure high quality of work with attention to detail
  • Perform complex bid analysis to make sourcing recommendations to our internal stakeholders. This includes researching potential suppliers at the onset of a project
  • Collaborate with sourcing category teams and divisions on project strategy/tactics and tailor sourcing execution methods based on best practices
  • Develop Direct and Indirect spend Category expertise and industry specific knowledge to become a subject matter expert
  • Develop and enhance internal e-Sourcing knowledge and become a Jaggaer ASO super user
  • Conduct trainings and lessons learned workshops for internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Provide responses to internal stakeholder and supplier questions in a professional and timely manner
  • Conduct reviews of other sourcing team members’ projects and check for quality, consistency, and compliance with internal stakeholder requirements and best practices
  • Effectively utilize resources and tools for troubleshooting and communication purposes
  • Support category teams with supplier communication throughout e-sourcing events
  • Assist with creating e-Sourcing related presentations & templates
  • Drive change management by helping internal stakeholders adopt the e-sourcing application, best practices, tactics and supporting tools
  • Administrative activities in relation to e-sourcing application (onboarding of users/suppliers etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required from accredited University or College (Supply Chain, Business Administration, similar degrees will be considered as well)
  • 1-3 years of work experience (can include internship work) required in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, and/or Data Analytics.
  • Ability to work full time, 5 days a week at the Glenview, IL corporate campus with flexible hours
  • Skilled in Excel, including Lookups, Pivot tables/Charts, PowerPivot, Advanced Formulas, and/or PowerBI or similar tools (e.g. Tableau) to provide reporting and analysis to the Enterprise. 
  • Willingness to be trained to develop an extensive knowledge of Jaggaer ASO applications for e-Sourcing.
  • A high level of Emotional Intelligence and the ability to build effective relationships and trust. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation including relationship management, conducting demonstrations/training, and managing issues through resolution. 
  • Demonstrated project management, prioritization, and time management, skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Periodic travel to ITW production facilities, supplier sites, industry and internal conferences, and internal and external training (~10% of time)
  • Fluency in additional languages is welcome but not required (e.g. Chinese/Mandarin, German, French, Italian)
