ERP Data Migration Consultant

We’re building a roster of skilled ERP Data Migration Assessment Consultants to support both current and upcoming client projects. We’re looking for individuals with strong experience in ERP data readiness, data migration planning, data quality assessment, legacy-to-target data mapping, and data governance. Ideal candidates bring a blend of data analysis, business analysis, and systems thinking to evaluate the quality, structure, and readiness of legacy data prior to an ERP implementation.

The Data Migration Assessment Consultant plays a critical role in reducing ERP project risk by identifying data issues early and establishing a clear, actionable path to a successful migration. This includes leading ERP data discovery workshops, conducting detailed data quality analysis, mapping legacy-to-target data structures, defining data governance responsibilities, and producing recommendations aligned with the ERP Success Framework. This work directly contributes to minimizing migration risk, reducing cost overruns, preventing timeline delays, and strengthening overall ERP implementation success.

As an ERP Data Migration Consultant for AG Consulting Partners, a typical day might include the following:

• Facilitating workshops with Business Process Owners, SMEs, and Data Stewards
• Documenting current-state data sources, ownership, lifecycle, and dependencies
• Clarifying data scope and constraints across all functional areas
• Identifying and cataloging all legacy datasets across operational, financial, and reporting systems
• Assessing data volume, history requirements, and archival policies
• Establishing data ownership roles, stewardship responsibilities, and approval workflows
• Recommending governance structures required for future-state ERP
• Define migration waves, cutover strategy, testing cycles, and validation methods
• Producing a blueprint covering extraction, transformation, loading, and post-load validation
• Assessing tooling needs (automation opportunities vs. manual effort)
• Delivering a comprehensive Data Migration Impact Assessment including risks, actions, timelines, roles, and estimated effort
• Presenting findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders and project leadership

You have:

• 5–10+ years of experience in data migration, data quality, or ERP implementation.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics
• Hands-on experience with SQL, data profiling tools, or ETL mapping.
• Ability to interpret and reverse-engineer legacy systems and structures.
• Excellent communication skills for simplifying technical findings for business teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team workshops.

You might also have:

• Experience working on ERP readiness or ERP selection projects.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks (DAMA, CMMI, ISO).
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience.
• Understanding of master data domains (Items, BOM, Vendors, Customers, GL, etc.)

The compensation for this position is tailored to reflect your unique skill set, relevant experience, and the current dynamics of the job market. We strive to ensure that our compensation package is competitive and fair, taking into account various factors to provide a rewarding opportunity for our team members.

The annual salary range for this role is: 100,000 - 140,000 in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. (w2)
