Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.
As a quant research analyst for one of our world leading Long Short businesses you’ll have the opportunity to get exposed to all aspects of the business; performance analysis, portfolio, and risk management, execution analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Work with equity management to run various performance and risk related quantitative analyses
- Design and develop various tools in Python that will be crucial for analysis, research, trading, and risk management purposes
- Ensure integrity of data management pipeline and the underlying data itself, and actively identify, diagnose, and remedy data issues
- Provide ongoing maintenance, research support, and enhancements to Portfolio Managers in their daily processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal tech and data teams, Portfolio managers, researchers, traders, and outside vendors
- Stay abreast of market trends and academic research to continually adapt and refine trading strategies and portfolio analytics
Qualifications:
- Exceptional analytical abilities and a strong problem-solving mindset
- At least 3 years experience in Python programming, ideally including libraries relevant to data analysis andvisualiztion
- Strong work ethic
- Effective collaborator
- Understanding of equity factor models and at least 2 to 3 years’ experience working with various vendor models (Barra/Axioma/Wolfe)
- Experience with SQL databases and AWS/cloud engineering a plus
