Builds, configures, tests, modifies, and distributes Epic analytics content using Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer, Radar, Cogito SQL, Clarity, and Caboodle. Writes SQL, creates reports and dashboards, maintains analytics metadata, reviews peer reports, supports upgrades, collaborates with data consumers, and participates in 24/7 on-call support. Responsibilities may also include maintaining cubes, extracts, custom filters, and third-party business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities:

  1. Configures and tests Epic‐released and Foundation System content for all applications, including:

    1. Reporting Workbench

    2. Slicer Dicer Data Models

    3. Radar Dashboards

    4. Cogito SQL

  2. Creates content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle.

  3. Writes SQL and configures Radar settings for custom SQL metrics.

  4. Modifies existing reports, as necessary.

  5. Distributes analytics content to data consumers.

  6. Reviews peer reports for validity.

  7. Works with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers.

  8. Maintains the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records.

  9. Tests analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume tests in live environments.

  10. Reviews upgrade documentation related to Clarity and Caboodle features and determines how to implement the changes.

  11. BIDs might also be responsible for building and maintaining:

    1. Cubes

    2. Extracts

    3. Slicer Dicer Custom Filters

    4. Third‐party BI Tools

  12. Participates in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support. 

  13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years application modification and computer system support.

  • Minimum three year PC-oriented experience to include basic word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Report writing, data extraction, and database knowledge.

  • Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts.

  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools.

  • Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure, through training that occurs early in the implementation. 

  • Associate degree in Healthcare/Computer Science/Business or equivalent work experience required.
