As an Environmental Engineering Manager in our ESG and Sustainability Practice, you will play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to support our clients in achieving their environmental goals and meeting their regulatory responsibilities.

Employee can sit in either location: Greenville, Charlotte, or Charleston.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Lead the development and implementation of ESG strategies for clients, integrating environmental considerations into their overall business strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives that align with ESG goals and industry best practices.

  • Oversee the conduct of comprehensive environmental impact assessments for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and identifying opportunities for sustainable practices.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide lifecycle analyses and advice on sustainability risks in the value chain; develop sustainable supply chain planning.

  • Stay abreast of evolving environmental and greenhouse gas emissions regulations and standards, providing guidance to clients on compliance requirements.
  • Develop reporting methodology and assist clients in state and federal greenhouse gas emissions and environmental risk reporting.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique challenges and goals in the ESG space.
  • Cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with clients through effective communication, project delivery, and exceeding expectations.

  • Lead a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that aligns with the firm’s mission and values.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on environmental performance, ESG metrics, and sustainability achievements to clients and stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex environmental concepts in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, industry partners, and business groups, to build collaborative relationships.

WHAT WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional engineering license (PE) or Master’s in Sustainability is preferred.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in environmental engineering, ESG strategy development, and project management.
  • Experience with scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement pursuant to the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and other ESG standards. Exposure to European ESG disclosure regulations preferred.
  • Experience with EcoVadis and/or other sustainability management tools.
  • Experience in a client-serving environmental/ESG consulting practice preferred.
  • Experience developing sustainability reports/plans.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing a team.
