1. General Information:
Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Reports to: EHS Manager, Jinshan
Location: Jinshan Site, Shanghai
2. Job Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for environmental compliances, environmental improvements, Permits & licenses for existing facilities and new expansions for JS plant.
3. Principal Accountabilities:
- The job holder will cooperate to develop, implement & manage an Environment system, keep it to be enough, suitable, effective.
- Manage environment contacts with the regulatory bodies (national, state and local) and has responsibility for environment regulatory compliance, apply and maintain the environment corresponding permit and license including the Pollutants Discharge Permit.
- Be responsible for continuous improvement on environment protection. He/she will also look forward into the development trend of Environment Protection and integrate them into plant operation.
- Manage the input and final confirmation of EIA report and subsequent monitoring execution.
- Be responsible for the environment protection system management to assure the compliance with waste gas, water, noise and solid emission and discharge.
- Be responsible for internal & external audits, reports, data generation and record retention.
- Update the ERP as regulation requirement and check its effectiveness through drill, practice, training and examination.
- Be responsible for auditing reliability of environment protection installations.
- Be responsible for the environment protection monitor, inspection and test on waste gas, waste water, noise, underground soil and water.
- Make plan, execute waste reduction activities and management the waste to comply with internal and external standards.
- Be responsible for protecting the benefit of site business in term of asset lifetime plus on environment protection.
- Optimize the cost control on the environment protection field is also a key task.
- Other task arranged.
4. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Needed:
4.1 Job Incumbent is expected to have Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science/Management (is preferable), Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, however other technical Bachelor Degrees would be considered..
4.2 Above 5 years’ experience in environment protection, chemical industry.
4.3 Well understand national environment protection code, law, regulation and standard.
4.4 Good spoken and written English.
4.5 Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and coaching skills.
4.6 Agile & collaborative.
4.7 Safety management experiences will be preferred
