Job Description
You will act as subject matter expert on environmental product compliance requirements for substances of concern in products, energy efficiency of products, and end-of-life responsibilities. In this dynamic role, your strategic, systems-thinking approach to problem solving will be applied to define and execute global environmental program requirements and establish company policies and objectives.
You will support product design and development activities during New Product Introduction and Continuation processes. You will work hybrid in our Milwaukee or Mayfield Heights locations. You will report to the Global Engineering Team Lead. Influence stakeholders and decision-makers to secure support for programs as necessary.
Your Responsibilities:
Functional
- Monitor and understand complex regulatory and market drivers and their ability to affect product lines. Work with business partners to assess risk and strategy for supporting compliance of RA products.
- Manage and interpret complex data sets to understand regulatory impact and support decision making.
Leadership
- Lead enterprise-wide, cross functional teams to identify and address product design issues related to global environmental directives, regulations, and standards.
- Work cross-functionally to analyze and present regulatory trends and share information
- Communicate requirements to support internal and external customers.
Interpersonal
- Ensure that product designs are compliant with standards and directives to ensure global market access.
- Establish relationships with external and internal stakeholders, Trade Associations, and Standards Development Committees.
Business
- Plan and execute projects of significant and strategic importance to the corporation.
- Engage Rockwell Automation supply chain stakeholders to facilitate compliance programs.
- Influence stakeholders and drive support for compliance programs across the company.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related technical field with knowledge in the application of basic engineering and manufacturing principles, theories, and techniques.
- 8+ years' experience in Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization in an electronics manufacturing organization or environmental compliance programs.
- Proven experience managing projects related to environmental regulations and sustainability with the application of strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to frame and manage complex and ambiguous tasks effectively.
- Fluent in gathering requirements, conducting complex data analysis on large datasets derived from varied information sources, and communicating actionable insights from the dataset.
- Advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Ecodesign) and proven experience determining and implementing requirements.
- Experience in new product development, including utilizing the Rockwell Automation Common Product Development (CPD) Process
- Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP in an operational setting.
