HNTB’s Environmental Department is seeking an intern to assist in a variety of office and field tasks revolving around the transportation sector.
The successful candidate will work alongside the team, providing support for environmental permitting, wetland delineation, and construction monitoring assignments. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in transportation and a desire to grow within the industry. Candidates will have access to mentorship and professional development opportunities. Positions are usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.
The position is based out of our Charleston, South Carolina Office. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for these positions.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists project team members with various support tasks.
- Conducts basic research and data collection.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
- Performs other duties assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program
What We Prefer:
- Pursuing a major in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Environmental Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Biology/Wildlife Studies, Fishery or Forestry, Ecology, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or related field
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Training and/or experience with GIS mapping and data analysis
- Willingness to perform field work
- Works well in a team setting
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure
