Environmental Consultant (Mid-Level)
ERM is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineer or Geologist to join our growing team in the Salvador, Bahia office. Working under the direction of project managers and partners, the successful candidate will work on a wide variety of site investigation, remediation, compliance, and hazardous waste management projects.
This opportunity includes projects that utilize ERM's technical experts to implement innovative and regulatory driven engineering and remediation technologies, unique subsurface contaminated site investigations, and complex wastewater compliance projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related environmental discipline; Masters a plus.

2 to 5 years of relevant environmental experience including performing field work, report writing, and general safety training.

Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.

Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to perform field work standing or walking for full field days

Detail-oriented with solutions and results-oriented aptitude and hands-on trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills.

Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Local candidates preferred; however, regional candidates will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct field work, including sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, remedial pilot tests, and remedial system construction oversight.

Assist in groundwater and system performance monitoring and optimization.

Compile and evaluate data; proficiency in report preparation.

Perform Phase I and II environmental site assessments.

Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.

Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.
