About this opportunity
Power Solutions is responsible for the research, development, and maintenance of power solutions for the majority of the Ericsson Radio Product Portfolio. We are part of Ericsson's global design organization, developing products for today's and tomorrow's mobile networks.
You'll contribute with both technical knowledge and leadership to improve our products and processes. We use the latest design and simulation tools to develop outstanding products, track new technologies and methods, and keep our design activities at a best-in-class level. Our competence center is built on teamwork and a strong learning culture with experienced, dedicated individuals. We believe our people are the key to our success.
We're now looking for two junior Power Designers. You'll collaborate with Radio design colleagues in Kista and power design colleagues in Lindholmen in our Radio product development projects. You'll interact with design teams across Ericsson - system design, various groups using the power solution, and verification at product and node level - and be involved in all phases of development: requirement breakdown, simulation, circuit design, verification, and fault finding both at DC/DC circuit level and in the product environment.
What you will do:
- Board Power Design: Design and optimize DC/DC converters and point-of-load regulators, selecting topologies, components to meet efficiency, cost, and area targets.
- Perform power system simulations and modeling - from converter level to board power distribution - to predict behavior, shorten development lead times, and secure robust designs.
- Plan and execute board power verification from bring-up through compliance readiness, using established verification instructions and measurement methods; ensure performance against defined budgets and real product conditions
- Work hands-on in the lab with state-of-the-art instruments and techniques, from prototype bring-up and debugging to characterization and long-term reliability investigations.
- Drive effective communication and collaboration between Power Design and partners: facilitate communication between Radio design colleagues and power design teams; support object leaders, lead engineers, and line management in resolving power design issues; collaborate across disciplines and understand product design requirements.
- Drive innovation and improvements in the power area: stay informed about industry practices and technical developments; contribute to technology and product development in power design applications.
- Actively support integration and verification of power solutions in products: contribute to integration, verification, and troubleshooting of power solutions applied in Radio products.
- Drive product quality ambition in Power Design: monitor and ensure customer-perceived quality aspects are addressed in both functional parts of power solutions and hardware robustness.
The skills you bring:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Fundamental knowledge of power electronics and analog system design.
- Proven skills in DC/DC converter design.
- Familiarity with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, etc.
- Knowledge of simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, etc.
- Knowledge of scripting tools such as Python, MATLAB, Mathcad, etc.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with a drive for results.
- Open-minded, with a strong interest in problem solving.
- Good understanding of hardware design and how power design solutions are applied.
- Radio and/or digital design knowledge; experience with product requirement breakdown and technical analysis is a merit.
- Experience in product design and/or verification is valuable.
- Fluent in english.
