Job Description:

The enterprise R&D digital domain forms a critical functional and data foundation as part of the end to end business transformation program across Mars Inc. It plays a pivotal role in delivering best in class digital capabilities across Product Lifecycle Management, Quality & Food Safety, MGS Laboratories and Enterprise Product Innovation and in transitioning from our current state systems, process and data architecture, to the transition state and on to the future state. Digital R&D today spans a complex architecture of systems, process and data and this role will ensure a smooth and best in class transition to our future PLM state, whilst meeting all interim and transitional needs of transformation programs such as D30, Digital First and EOS.

In order to deliver business transformation at scale across PLM, this role requires senior leader stakeholder engagement across Corporate R&D, Segment functional and DT senior leads. It also requires a very close relationship with the GDO organisation, in leading new capabilities and innovations and ensuring strong end to end business value realisation across the PLM domain.

This role will ultimately be responsible for orchestrating a global cPLM transformation deployment playbook and leading the DT part of design/build/pilot of new phase 2 capabilities. These responsibiliites will lay a strong foundation that will effectively support the large transformation programs in the area of PLM and will support the next period of Mars Inc growth.

This role is a permanent role intended to support PMO leadership for the program over multi-years. This is a project role for the Design, Development, and Segment Pilot phase of Core PLM, funded through 2028. As we near the funding end date of these phases, your manager will be in touch with additional information including funding for next phases, including Deployment and additional pilots.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Digital R&D cPLM Deployment Senior Lead (50%)

  • Accountable and responsible for the cPLM Deployment global strategy as defined and maintained through the global.playbook.

  • Orchestrate the overall macro deployment plan across the program, in partnership with segment PM/PMOs, ensuring regular status reports on progress and an ongoing ‘learn and refine’ approach to deployment

  • Ensure that the transformation deployment plans align with the overall program objectives and meets the expectations of the cPLM senior leaders and operational steerco.​

  • Ensure deployment best practise is fully endorsed, tracked and continually improved through creation of a cPLM deployment community of practise

  • Provide timely and through input to future TIGG releases to support the deployment resourcing and financial needs across the program.

  • Close partnership with Corporate R&D Senior Manager for Phase 2/Deployment, through the well established ‘2 in a box’ model.

Phase 2 new capabilities:

  • Responsible for the enterprise program delivery of phase 2 scope, primarily focusing on External Manufacturing, Orchestration and Supplier Collaboration.

  • Responsible for the discovery and design phases, in partnership with Corporate R&D Senior Manager for the area(s).

  • Responsible for the build phase, in partnership with Corporate R&D Senior Manager for the area(s).

  • Responsible for the enterprise delivery of the required components for the pilot phase of the phase 2 deliverables within the cPLM program.

  • Full compliance with PMx methodologies to deliver the end to end phase 2 projects across the program.

  • Parter with SI and BI vendors to seek industry best practice and translate into the Mars context, to ensure approach to internal Mars cPLM program is fully optimized and industry relevant.

  • Support input into future TIGG submissions to support future design/build/pilot needs for the phase 2 capability suite.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or relevant business function (e.g. R&D) or equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience in leading digital led business change.

  • Strong proven track record of driving talent and people development and high performing teams.

  • Experience in digital R&D Platform architecture for large, multi-year transformation programs. This includes senior leader stakeholder management and strong financial governance.

  • Experience in driving digital R&D initiative across PLM domains that ensure timely, accurate and trusted digital capabilities for large, multi-segment company like Mars to support multi-year transformation program.

  • Strong understanding of technology management principles with good understanding of digital R&D platforms and associated best practices in optimal integrations across the business landscape.

  • Knowledge of digital R&D platform architecture, complexities and architectural patterns and needs (e.g data confidentiality, security).

  • Ability to participate in multiple complex programs across BAU and transformation at the same time in an agile environment.

  • Ability to Innovate with out-of-the-box thinking to evolve solutions and experiences through technology.
