Job Description

We are seeking an Expert Enterprise Architect who can bridge technology solutions and business objectives, offering Architecture as a Service to engineering and business teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Application Architecture, a strong business acumen, and the ability to lead the organization through ambiguity with pragmatic and innovative architecture guidance.

About Allstate Enterprise Architecture (EA) Team:
Allstate’s Enterprise Architecture team is at the forefront of technology transformation, enabling business and engineering teams to achieve strategic objectives. Our team is pivoting to a more hands-on operating model, focusing on developing proof-of-concepts (POCs) and reference implementations, particularly in the area of emerging technologies such as AI/GenAI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Architecture Leadership:Provide hands-on architecture guidance and direction to engineering and business teams, especially when navigating new or ambiguous technological landscapes.Develop and deliver enterprise-level reference architectures, patterns, and frameworks for emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on AI/GenAI.Own and execute the creation of POCs and reference implementations to validate new technologies and approaches.

• Strategic Technology Guidance:Translate complex business objectives into practical technology solutions and architecture roadmaps.Assess, recommend, and champion innovative technologies and practices that drive business value and accelerate strategic initiatives.Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, engineering, and business partners.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:Foster effective partnerships with engineering, product, and business teams to drive adoption of architecture guidance and standards.Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and architectural reviews to ensure alignment and clarity in technology direction.

• Governance & Best Practices:Define and promote architecture governance processes, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards while enabling agility and innovation.Mentor and coach architects and technical leads, elevating architecture capability across the organization.

• Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership:Stay ahead of industry trends, especially in the areas of cloud, AI/GenAI, data, and application modernization.Share knowledge and thought leadership through internal communities, presentations, and external engagements.

Qualifications:

• 15-20 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, application architecture, or related technology roles.

• Proven track record of hands-on development of POCs and reference implementations, especially in emerging technology areas.

• Deep expertise in modern application architecture (microservices, APIs, cloud-native, event-driven, etc.).

• Experience with AI/GenAI technologies, platforms, and frameworks is highly desirable.

• Strong business acumen and ability to align technology strategy with organizational goals.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in large-scale, complex enterprise environments.
