United Talent Agency (UTA) seeks a highly motivated Enterprise ServiceNow Engineer – CMDB to lead the strategy, governance, and operational excellence of the organization’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB). As the primary steward of enterprise configuration data, this individual will leverage deep ServiceNow expertise to administer and enhance the CMDB, drive Common Service Data Model (CSDM) adoption, improve data quality, optimize Discovery processes, and strengthen service relationships across the technology ecosystem. Partnering closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Endpoint Engineering, Application Owners, and Service Owners, the Senior Enterprise ServiceNow Engineer will ensure business applications, technical services, and supporting infrastructure are accurately represented within the CMDB. This role is instrumental in establishing sustainable governance practices, reducing duplicate and orphaned configuration items, delivering actionable dashboards and metrics, and serving as UTA’s CMDB subject matter expert. By building and maintaining a trusted source of truth for enterprise technology, the successful candidate will enable improved operational decision-making, automation, service reliability, and support the foundation for future IT Service Management, Asset Management, Change Management, and AI-driven initiatives across the organization.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience and skills.
What You Will Do
CMDB Ownership & Governance
Serve as the primary owner of UTA's Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Develop and maintain CMDB governance policies, standards, and operational procedures
Monitor CMDB health, identify data quality issues, and drive remediation efforts
Establish ongoing processes that ensure configuration data remains accurate, complete, and reliable
Define and measure CMDB health metrics, KPIs, and reporting
ServiceNow Administration
Administer and enhance ServiceNow CMDB functionality
Configure and optimize Discovery, Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE), and related CMDB capabilities
Support Service Mapping and CSDM implementation efforts
Troubleshoot CMDB-related issues and improve platform performance
Partner with ServiceNow administrators and developers on enhancements and automation initiatives
Enterprise Application & Service Management
Partner with Application Owners and Service Owners to document and maintain accurate application and service information
Ensure business applications, technical services, and service offerings are properly modeled within the CMDB
Maintain relationships between applications, infrastructure, business services, and supporting technologies
Assist in developing enterprise service models aligned with CSDM best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Endpoint Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Enterprise Applications teams
Support Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Knowledge Management processes through accurate configuration data
Participate in architecture reviews and project planning
Provide guidance and education on CMDB governance and best practices
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate CMDB population and maintenance
Drive continuous improvements in data quality, governance, and operational maturity
Develop dashboards and reporting for CMDB health
Stay current on ServiceNow platform capabilities and CMDB best practices
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
5+ years managing or supporting an enterprise CMDB
3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience
Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, IRE, and CSDM
Experience working with enterprise applications and application portfolio management concepts
Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking, cloud platforms, endpoint management, and enterprise applications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) preferred
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (Discovery and/or Service Mapping) preferred
Experience implementing or maturing CSDM preferred
Experience with HAM, SAM, APIs, integrations, and enterprise environments preferred
Familiarity with ServiceNow AI capabilities preferred
