Your role and responsibilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to enable the organization to make the right decisions about the integrated ABB architecture landscape, by ensuring coherent, scalable, secure, and reusable integration patterns across business areas while enabling local autonomy and delivery speed. You will be operating at enterprise and cross-domain level, setting strategic direction, guardrails, and decision frameworks for all integration capabilities, including APIs, events, messaging, B2B integration, agentic AI, and platform integration. You will be entrusted to translate ABB goals into integration-specific roadmap and ensure solutions within Integration domain are scalable, secure, and aligned with ABB’s long-term vision.

You will be mainly accountable for:
Directing the development of enterprise integration strategy and processes, to ensure the strategic application of change is embedded in the organization management.
Developing, enhancing, and maintaining ABB-wide architecture best practices, policies, standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure that a consistent technology framework is applied across ABB through your own area of responsibility.
Assessing the existing IT environment, developing a future state IT architecture, ensuring technology compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, and strategic direction, and overseeing architectural review of new designs.
Monitoring and reporting compliance level of the architecture landscape and flagging cross-ABB planning and road mapping implications.
Qualifications for the role
10+ years in architecture roles, with strong enterprise integration experience in large, complex, decentralized organizations
Background in API-led and event-driven architectures at scale
Experience operating in governance-heavy environments without slowing delivery
Technical expertise in: API Management (REST, GraphQL, Async APIs), messaging and integration platforms, hybrid and multi-cloud integration, domain-driven design and bounded contexts, security patterns for integration
Strong understanding of EA domains (business, application, data, technology)
Ability to see the "big picture" while maintaining deep technical expertise in the specific stream and focus on execution
Strategic thinking combined with execution focus is necessary
Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills with ability to explain "the why" behind technical decisions to both C-suite executives and engineering teams
