We have an exciting opportunity for a Enterprise Data Architect to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to the Senior Director - Technology and be a member of the Data & Technology team.
The core responsibility of the of the Enterprise Data Architect is to expand the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. The Enterprise Data Architect will achieve this by strategically designing, developing, and
implementing data models for enterprise-level applications and systems. These models shall be architected at the following layers: conceptual, logical, business area, and application. This individual will act as the primary advocate of data modelling methodologies and data processing best practices. The role will operate within a hybrid environment encompassing on-premise, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and various SaaS platforms.
This will be a permanent role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Data and Analytics Strategy
Lead the implementation of data and analytics strategy by developing a data
insights integration approach and process aligned to key business processes
and decisions, in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and
other key stakeholders.
Data Architecture
Translate data and analytics strategy and vision into data architecture, defining
and implementing models, rules, and standards for design and governance, in
collaboration with Solution/ Enterprise Architects, supporting the organization's
digital transformation initiatives.
Business Requirements Identification
Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as
interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the
requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Translate the business
requirements and user cases into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
Database Specifications
Approve complex database specifications, ensuring that all agreed standards
and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved. Suggest
improvements for standards and protocols for database specifications.
Data Management
Take responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the
organization's data management system.
Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of
corporate metadata; take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity.
Documentation and Backup
Create and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high
standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
Asset Life Cycle and Interdependencies Management
Execute key digital product/service life-cycle activities, planning and aligning
with procurement and distribution and developing standard processes and
tooling requirements to support asset life-cycle management.
Technical Developments Recommendation
Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to
improve the quality of the data software and supporting infrastructure to better
meet users’ needs.
Technology Implementation
Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness,
redundancy, and improvement.
Operational Compliance
Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's
policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct,
and ensure own work adheres to required standards.
Operational Risk Management
Handle the operational risk management process for specific business
operations, aligning activities with operational objectives.
- Substantial data architect experience preferably within manufacturing or pharmaceutical settings.
- Experience designing schemas and data flows for both structured and semistructured data.
- Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures.
- Experience with cloud-native services in Azure (e.g., Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric).
- Experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance, cataloguing, and lineage tracking.
- Experience supporting Agile project delivery and DevOps principles.
- Experience with master data management (MDM) and metadata management platforms.
