Job Description

The Enterprise Architect/Capital Planning SME is a recognized strategic planning expert in information technology systems relating to bank receivership, insurance, and/or oversight. Uses expertise in business management practices and industry requirements to provide highly technical and specialized guidance concerning IT solutions to complex information processing problems related to the subject matter field.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Has direct specialized experience in implementing enterprise mission-critical components that represent an investment of over $5 million within complex government/commercial organizations.
• Develops plans, manages, and provides technical oversight for the entire systems development lifecycle, including but not limited to corporate strategic planning; analysis and design; software development; cost and schedule estimation; use of accepted software engineering practices; design techniques and tools; and review of legacy systems.
• Translate business capabilities and objectives to IT strategy.
• Define plans to transition from the current state to the target state of IT architecture and turn them into effective investment proposals.
• Identify challenges/impacts/risks associated with IT changes and determine mitigations.
• Rationalize IT platforms and application portfolios.
• Establish, refine, and enforce governance for architecture alignment.
• Facilitate strategic discussions with senior IT leaders and communications/outreach to IT and non-IT communities.
• Leverage knowledge of emerging technologies and industry practices to enhance the solution delivery experience for consumers and developers.
• Experience in Enterprise Architecture, focusing on applying EA concepts to create effective transition plans and investments.
• Experience conducting cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments.
• Performs analysis and studies; prepares reports and gives presentations; works independently.
• You may be required to work onsite two (2) days a week (TBD).

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant working experience 
• Experience with Project Management.
• Experience working with senior leadership to align investments with strategic goals
• Experienced with applied engineering methodologies and principles to conduct major enterprise-wide business process evaluation and modernization projects.

Desired Skillset:

• Experience applying object-oriented programming and design approaches and patterns-based design and development.
• Experience with Agile Product Management 
• Local to DC area (preferred)

Education: 

• Master’s degree in information technology or related field of study.

Clearance Requirement: 

• Must be a US Citizen
• FDIC Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
