Enterprise Architect - Safety Critical Systems Development

• Four years of working experience in Enterprise Architect role for a core safety critical project 

• Knowledge and working experience in developing Enterprise Architecture using any of the following functional/software safety standards MIL-STD-882/IEC 61508/EN 50128/DO 178B Level A/B 

• Knowledge of all products/options available on Hardware, Operating Systems, Tools for safety critical project architecture, implementation and development. 

• Experience architecting systems with Real Time Java as a programming language option. Understanding about Real Time Specification for Java (RTSJ). 

• Detailed understanding about advantages/disadvantages using Java/C++ programming languages for safety critical project. Understanding about safety critical Java initiatives such as JSR 302.

12+ year(s) experience / knowledge in Information Technology in Java/Java EE applications

The candidate preferred to have:

• Enterprise Architecture certifications such as TOGAF/Zachman 

• Experience in Networking Architecture, Security Architecture 

• Exposure to CMMI 

• Operating system partition concepts/standards such as ARINC 653/MILS 

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare Enterprise Architecture for safety critical Control Systems preferably using Java as the primary implementation Language 

• Select Hardware, Operating System, Programming Languages and tools to be used for the safety critical project 

• Prepare Enterprise Architecture for the safety critical project meeting regulatory standards 

• Prepare development and implementation standards to be used for the safety critical project 

• Interacts with the other Railroads to handle Interoperability needs 

• Prepare operating, supporting and maintenance procedures, standards and mechanism 

• Review and approve software design 

• Present a viable safety critical architecture to regulatory authority and get it approved. 

Required Education, Training, Experience or Skills: 

A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Skills Required

  • Four years of working experience in Enterprise Architect role for a core safety critical project
