Job Title: Enterprise Architect – End-to-End Platform Architecture
Job Summary:
Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to drive the strategic vision and architecture for our end-to-end platform, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that meet our business and product needs. This role will require close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment of the platform architecture with both technical and financial goals, making it a scalable and supportable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Platform Architecture:

Design and maintain the architecture blueprint for the entire platform, encompassing all components and services.

Ensure a seamless integration across platform components, focusing on interoperability, modularity, and performance optimization.

Develop a comprehensive roadmap and architectural framework that aligns with current and future product needs.
Scalability and Performance Management:

Architect a robust platform with scalability as a core attribute to support future growth and evolving requirements.

Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices for system performance, latency, and throughput, establishing guidelines and metrics for continual improvement.
Financial Oversight and Cost Management:

Manage and monitor the platform’s cost-effectiveness, working with finance and product teams to optimize operational costs.

Implement architectural decisions that balance performance with cost, using strategies such as resource pooling, workload optimization, and dynamic scaling.
Platform Observability and Supportability:

Define and integrate observability practices and tools, ensuring comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting across all platform components.

Develop strategies to enhance supportability, including incident response, automated remediation, and proactive maintenance.
Security and Compliance:

Embed security within the platform architecture, implementing best practices such as zero-trust, data protection, identity management, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, and audits to safeguard the platform and data integrity.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Partner with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to align platform architecture with product requirements, feature roadmaps, and release schedules.

Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive decision-making and execution across the platform lifecycle.
Defining SaaS Standards:

Establish Iron Mountain’s definition of SaaS, setting principles, guidelines, and standards for SaaS service delivery models.

Ensure the platform architecture supports SaaS delivery in alignment with business strategies, customer expectations, and market trends.
Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years in technology architecture roles, with a strong background in enterprise-scale platform design, preferably in SaaS or cloud-based solutions.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), microservices architecture, observability tooling (e.g., New Relic, Datadog), cost management tools, and security best practices.

Soft Skills: Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
