This position offers a great opportunity to work on industry leading semiconductor devices, targeted for broad applications in Automotive and Industrial markets. In this role, you’ll be a member of AMG Product Engineering PE team, tasked with supporting Product and Test Engineering teams, on ATE HW design and developing mechanical solutions and interfaces of various equipment used in an engineering lab. Knowledge of analog, RF, and high-speed digital HW design requirements and care-abouts are critical to be successful in this role. Candidate should be familiar with using CAD software for HW design, drive placement and routing requirements based on device AC/DC requirements and running simulations on final layout / placement before any HW is released for fabrication.

Responsibilities- Review / Create / Design ATE HW probe-card and loadboard from schematics to layout and placement across multiple products.
- Design / Develop / Qualify ATE test equipment mechanical and electrical specifications for roadmap test systems.
- Performs qualification and integration testing of these test systems, debugs, resolves issues before final production release and/or factory buyoff.
- Act as a liaison between BU PE and Factory on validating HW / SW at factory installed test cells and ensuring production requirements are satisfactorily met (Prober / Handler interface, Socket / Pin qualifications, Temperature Test Capabilities, etc.)
- Primary interface with external PCB, socket, handler, prober vendors for HW / vendor selection, electrical and mechanical specifications and requirements, and vendor qualification and approvals.
- Responsible for BoM selection and assembly instructions on loadboards and probe-cards.
- Develop and document verification and validation procedures for ATE systems to ensure system will perform as specified and qualified.
- Create / review Lab Equipment artifacts like User Manuals, Training Manuals, and Equipment setup Guidelines and Manuals and related documents.
- Possess knowledge of various Analog, RF, Digital (including high-speed digital) test methods, to influence PCB and HW design and dependencies.
- Debug and troubleshoot technical issues and communicate via written and verbal media.
Requirements:
- BSEE with minimum >7 yrs of experience in Test PCB / Loadboard hardware design and/or ATE HW mechanical interface design experience.
- Ability to author process documents and specifications for SOP for an engineering lab.
- Prior experience in usage of tools like AutoCAD, pSPICE, MS Vision.
- Ability to debug and identify problems, root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
- Strong HW debug skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – energetic, motivated, and self-driven.
