The Engineering Technician supports engineering development, testing, and problem-solving activities for manufacturing equipment, systems, and customer products. This role performs complex testing, analyzes results, assists with product development, and collaborates closely with engineers, customers, and production teams to ensure quality and operational excellence.
- Perform complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development activities on products, equipment, and systems.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Set up and conduct testing of components and assemblies under operational conditions to support development, quality control, standardization, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to determine testing requirements and recommend solutions.
- Assemble, modify, and fabricate mechanical components, assemblies, and test fixtures as needed.
- Analyze test results and make equipment adjustments to ensure compliance with design and performance specifications.
- Document test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations for product or process improvements.
- Maintain equipment, software, and technical documentation in accordance with current revisions and specifications.
- Assist engineers in designing and developing hardware and software solutions used to test customer products.
- Organize and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, schematics, and procedures.
- Perform testing in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.
- Support customer presentations and interact directly with customers when needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and third-party partners on development projects.
- Train and support technicians and operators on products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate degree, military training, vocational training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of related engineering technician or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and documenting technical data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing, test, or product development environments.
- Ability to train, guide, and mentor technicians and operators.
- Experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
