Position Purpose:
The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the Global Brand & Product Development team, requiring meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and effective communication. Collaborating with Product Engineering, Product Development, and Quality teams, they contribute to project goals, providing essential support for new product development, and production performance. Responsibilities encompass constructing test rigs, executing testing, and reviewing results.
Key Responsibilities:
70% Test Execution - Execute product testing following protocols in accordance with applicable test standards. This will include, but not be limited to, tests for: functional safety, mechanical operation, environmental conditions, reliability, performance, failure modes, and usability. Set up test rigs and document test procedures based on both internal and industry standards. Ensure test design follows lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as applicable and that all activities are completed on time.
10% Data Evaluation - Document test data clearly and accurately, following Standard Operating Procedures. Evaluate test failures, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Work with Test Engineer and/or Test Supervisor to determine any additional testing needed.
10% Project Planning - Participate on project teams and work directly with Product Engineers and Test Engineer to understand product and determine applicable testing. Offer input on suitable test rigs, recommend modifications to improve testing plans' effectiveness, and contribute to discussions on test methods, techniques, and tools.
5% Automation - Basic skills in developing code for PLC, PID and or Raspberry pi.
5% Maintenance - Participate in 5S organization in the lab and ensure work area(s) meet 5S standards.
