Job Overview
As a Test Engineering Team Lead, you will provide leadership and guidance to test engineering teams, enabling a fast-growing SaaS company to deliver high-quality products rapidly and reliably. This role requires experience in agile environments, modern testing practices, SaaS deployment models, automation frameworks, and enterprise-grade test strategies. You will drive quality engineering by combining technical expertise with people leadership through coaching and mentorship.
What you’ll do
- Maintain a culture of continuous learning and improvement; empower teams to identify gaps, resolve obstacles, and learn from rapid iteration.
- Work hands-on in automation frameworks, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines to guide teams by example and accelerate delivery.
- Unblock automation engineers on automation initiatives and ensure they are ready to deliver effective, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Define and evolve test strategies across functional, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing to support successful release delivery.
- Ensure test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and quality gates are embedded into delivery, adhering to high-quality engineering principles.
- Establish strong test data, environment management, and monitoring practices to support reliable and repeatable testing.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and architects to plan, design, test, and validate scalable software solutions.
- Partner with teams to continuously evolve quality engineering processes, tools, and frameworks.
- Work with management to attract, grow, and retain skilled quality engineers, building high-performing, automation-first teams.
- Create an environment of openness and transparency where metrics and facts drive decisions, fostering innovation and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to eliminate impediments, drive shift-left testing, and continuously improve Lean-Agile delivery practices.
- Collaborate closely with offshore teams, ensuring smooth communication, alignment, and delivery across time zones.
- Drive delivery accountability across onshore and offshore engineers, ensuring goals are met with quality and predictability.
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years of experience in test engineering, quality assurance, or software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in automation frameworks (UI, API, performance), scripting (C#,Java Python, or similar), and CI/CD integration.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise testing practices, quality engineering, and release readiness.
- Experience with agile methodologies and driving quality in agile teams.
- Familiarity with industry-leading test frameworks, tools, and technologies for functional, performance, security, and automation testing.
- Experience with SaaS delivery models, cloud platforms, and test environment management.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to guide teams toward technical excellence and accountability.
