The Engineering Support Technician assists the Technology team by supporting BOMs, routings, engineering documentation, and SAP data management. This role helps maintain accurate product data, supports production and procurement teams, and ensures engineering documentation is up to date and aligned with manufacturing processes. The position plays a key role in maintaining data integrity and supporting day-to-day engineering and production operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the Newton SAP system. Verify component quantities, descriptions, and specifications for accuracy. Work with engineering, production, and procurement teams to gather information needed for BOM updates. Help perform regular checks to ensure BOM data consistency. Support the development and maintenance of manufacturing routing data in SAP, including operation sequences and work centers. Collaborate with production and engineering to help refine routing processes. Assist in reviewing routing data to ensure alignment with production capabilities and quality standards. Help document process changes and routing updates. Assist in managing engineering documents such as work instructions, control plans, and FMEAs. Support version control and organization of engineering files. Help ensure documentation is current and compliant with company standards. Create purchase requisitions and coordinate procurement of materials and tooling as needed. Provide support to engineering and production teams on documentation and data accuracy. Assist with implementing process improvements and standardizing workflows. Follow company policies and industry standards related to engineering data and documentation. Maintain accurate records of BOM and routing management activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to BOM and routing data management.
Basic knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently on assigned tasks.
Willingness to learn and support continuous improvement initiatives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor and requires ambulation Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate

Pay Range:
$32.44 - $40.07
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
