Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI-enabled and automated functionality to support production data processing, surveillance, reporting, and exception management activities.
- Build, enhance, and maintain surveillance tools and dashboards used to monitor production performance, data quality, downtime, well test results, LACT impacts, and operational exceptions.
- Author, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, Spotfire reports, and related analytical tools used to support daily production reporting, engineering surveillance, and operational decision-making.
- Understand, support, and troubleshoot production data flows between key Oxy systems, including eVin, ProCount, Carte, Nexus, SCADA, and related operational reporting platforms.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data-flow issues, system interface problems, missing data, failed auto-population records, and reporting inconsistencies across production systems.
- Support system configuration activities for new meters, equipment, wells, data tags, reporting points, and automated data interfaces to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
- Maintain data auto-population compliance, including ensuring all new meters and equipment are properly configured, validated, enrolled, and monitored.
- Review and validate auto-populated values to confirm accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Balance daily production estimates against production impacts to identify variations that may be related to unidentified surface equipment issues, data-flow failures, measurement changes, or changing well conditions.
- Monitor production data for inconsistencies, missing information, reporting variances, and system exceptions, and coordinate corrections with field, engineering, operations, and technical support teams.
- Reconcile production, downtime, well test, and system-generated data between reporting platforms to improve overall data accuracy and consistency.
- Implement and improve processes to facilitate daily End-of-Day reports, production summaries, exception reports, and operational performance reviews.
- Monitor LACT surveillance pages, facilitate production impact analysis, and provide production loss information to management.
- Maintain updated GOR lists in SCADA systems to support COR event execution activities.
- Prepare and submit FER reports in accordance with required schedules and reporting standards.
- Identify, document, and submit major loss events through the appropriate reporting channels.
- Enter, review, and verify well downtime records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely reporting.
- Review and validate well test data to confirm results meet established quality standards.
- Support field and operations teams by investigating production discrepancies, troubleshooting reporting issues, and helping resolve system or data-related problems.
- Track and follow up on incomplete, late, incorrect, or system-generated exception entries to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Manage and maintain production data until auto-population has been fully implemented.
- Maintain compliant records of reporting activities, validations, corrections, system changes, troubleshooting actions, and submissions for audit and operational review.
- Experience with SQL query writing, data extraction, or database reporting.
- Experience developing or maintaining Spotfire dashboards, surveillance tools, exception reports, or automated production reporting workflows.
- Familiarity with Oxy production and operational systems such as eVin, ProCount, Carte, Nexus, SCADA, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting system configuration for meters, wells, equipment, data tags, reporting points, or automated data interfaces.
- Experience troubleshooting system interface issues, failed data loads, missing data, auto-population errors, or reporting variances.
- Understanding of production data flow from field measurement devices and SCADA systems through reporting, accounting, and surveillance platforms.
- Experience supporting automation, AI-enabled workflows, reporting standardization, or process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of LACT surveillance, GOR tracking, COR events, FER reporting, major loss event reporting, downtime reporting, and well test validation.
- Prior experience working in Delaware Basin, Permian Basin, or other onshore oil and gas operations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop reports, dashboards, or tools that improve operational visibility, data quality, or reporting efficiency.
