Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)

The Engineering Project Lead serves as a force multiplier within Product Engineering, responsible for advancing engineering work products with speed, discipline, and predictability. This role owns the coordination and sequencing of engineering effort across teams and platforms, manages interdependencies, and embeds delivery learnings to reduce friction and rework. In parallel, the QA function integrates quality controls directly into the build process — spanning test strategy, automation, and validation of non-functional requirements — acting as a critical quality gate between Build and Run. This role operates in close partnership with the IT Planning organization, as well as Operations and Engineering teams, ensuring that delivery cadence, quality outcomes, and planning commitments remain tightly aligned across the full IT delivery lifecycle. Together, these functions accelerate iteration velocity, reduce operational rework and audit risk, and ensure that patient-facing capabilities are delivered with the reliability and stability of Trinity Health's clinical and operational environment demands.

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Organizes and sequences engineering effort across Product Engineering teams, ensuring work products advance with speed, discipline, and predictability.

  • Manages interdependencies across teams and platforms, identifying blockers early and driving resolution to maintain delivery momentum.

  • Coordinates with upstream project teams to apply delivery learnings consistently, reducing friction, rework, and unplanned delays.

  • Maintains cadence and execution focus within Product Engineering by facilitating sprint ceremonies, tracking progress, and communicating status to stakeholders.

  • Partners with the IT Planning organization to align engineering delivery commitments with portfolio-level planning, resource forecasts, and program milestones.

Quality Assurance

  • Embeds quality controls directly into the engineering process through the design and execution of test strategies spanning functional, integration, and non-functional requirements.

  • Develops and maintains automated and manual test coverage across shared platforms, integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Acts as a quality gate between Engineering and Operations, validating releases prior to deployment and ensuring defects are identified, documented, and resolved before production.

  • Reduces downstream incidents, audit risk, and support burden through disciplined QA practice and consistent application of release standards.

  • Collaborates with Operations teams to ensure that quality standards and release criteria reflect operational realities and support burden thresholds.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Identifies opportunities to improve engineering delivery processes and QA practices, recommending and implementing solutions that increase throughput and reduce operational rework.

  • Collaborates with engineering leads and product owners to align coordination and quality efforts with program goals and patient-facing reliability standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT and/or project management

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
