Position Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Project Coordinator for our Campbell River office. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager in the Campbell River office and will support our project management and engineering services teams in the planning, coordination, and delivery of project related services for mining and forestry related projects throughout BC.


The position will involve coordination of projects from proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and project closeout, including project invoicing. The successful applicant will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, technical staff, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.


Experience in engineering project coordination, contract administration, document control, scheduling, procurement, and client communication would be considered an asset


Major Job Functions:

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Process project billables and assist in invoicing preparation
  • Monitor project schedules and assist with tracking project budgets and deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and project team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting records and action item tracking.
  • Assist with contract administration and construction phase services.
  • Support project closeout activities including collection of record documentation and project deliverables.
  • Support construction administration activities including review of contractor progress claims, change requests, and field documentation.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, project setup, and resource planning.
  • Assist Project Managers in monitoring project scope, schedule, budget, and project risks.
  • Support project controls including budget tracking, forecasting, and progress monitoring.
  • Occasional site visits may be required.

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar programs would be considered an asset.
  • Flexibility, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within British Columbia.

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Two to five years of experience in consulting engineering, infrastructure delivery, contract administration, or project coordination.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with FPBC, ASTTBC or EGBC is preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Salary:

$70,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience, full-time permanent position.

The lower portion of the range reflects candidates with developing project coordination experience and responsibilities. The upper portion of the range applies to candidates demonstrating significant engineering coordination experience, contract administration expertise, and increased responsibility in project delivery.

Skills Required
