Our unit EU RCE PEU RAN Performance is responsible for systemizing, designing, implementing, and testing software features to control the air interface for the L1 and Scheduler parts of the baseband SW within the 5G product. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to drive technology and product leadership. You must have a good understanding of agile and lean R&D development. The section is under creation and your initial primary task will be to recruit and build up the section. You will report to a Manager in Kista and be a member of a global leadership team. Some travel will be needed.
What you will do
- Manage technology and product leadership.
- Secure the long and short-term competitiveness of Ericsson RAN Baseband SW
- Manage SW design team.
- Secure correct staffing, competence, competence development, and build future technical leaders.
- Drive, encourage continuous innovation and improvements within the areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge sharing and learning.
- Recruiting, coaching of staff, arranging competence builds.
- Meetings with product owning line managers around quality, staffing, trouble reports.
You will bring
- Technical education at university level is required.
- Experience in being a team leader, project manager or line manager within software development is required.
- Strong, result-oriented leadership skills with focus on finding effective and sustainable solutions: pro-active, empowering, pragmatic, and able to make things happen.
- Respect for deadlines and the ability to motivate people under high workload is required.
- Experience in working with radio baseband or radio protocols is an advantage.
- Experience with real-time embedded/DSP programming is an advantage.
- Ability to balance short term needs and long-term strategy.
- Good understanding of telecom business and direction.
- Keen interest in long-term evolution and success of Baseband SW product.
- Strong leadership skills in line with Ericsson core values.
- Interest and good understanding of the concepts of Lean and Agile ways of working.
