Engineering Manager

At Adient, we are proud to offer hybrid working to our employees, which involves being able to work remotely for up to 2 days per week based on the agreement within specific department.
What will your responsibilities be?
- to be responsible for the management of all Product Development Engineering activities within the Seat Structure & Mechanism organization
- to be able to identify potential issue, escalate them within Adient or Customer Eng community, and finally resolve the product issues that could prevent or delay product validation/launch of the product in serial production
- to timely engage Eng experts (COC’s, SMTE’s, testing etc), Manufacturing & Quality teams to get proper support
- to report project status to customer or internal Adient stakeholders (all relevant tech issues & associated action plans, etc.)
- direct communication to customer/OEM
- to take care of Team / People Development
- to create and maintain Engineering Budget (Product/Project related)
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
- Technical education (Dipl. Ing., Bachelor of Science or Master of Science, mechanical engineering) or equivalent
- Knowledge of mechanic and materials specs, able to understand drawings and define tolerances (GD&T) for production
- Experience with Product Development in Automotive Industry (or similar)
- Strong “problem solving” capability,
- Able to effectively communicate and interface between the Adient plant, customer, suppliers and development & program team.
- Motivated to learn about product, manufacturing, quality.
- Language skills: Local (Slovak/Czech) language and fluent English (German is an advantage)
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong attitude to deliver in complex and challenging environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively summarize & deliver information
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload, creating personal plans to manage workload
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive professional relationships with Adient and Customer organization.
- Open to travel to customer and Adient facilities to support product launch and problem-solving activities
