Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Lead a team of 5-8 engineers, cultivating a collaborative, psychologically safe environment where folks are motivated.

  • Lead your teams to ship software with high quality, being mindful of maintainability, testability, security, performance, and monitoring.

  • Lead the strategic and day-to-day engineering workload management of the teams, partnering with Product Management to prioritize both tactically and strategically.

  • Be responsible for the hiring, mentoring, career development, and organizational needs of your teams.

  • Build effective relationships across the organization with stakeholders, building both context and buy-in.

  • Use Agile methodologies to manage and deliver the teams’ OKRs.

  • Work with other engineering leads on the design of the future state of our platform and organization.

What You Should Have:

  • 3+ years building and leading high-impact teams and 5+ years hands-on, full-stack software product development experience

  • Proven delivery track record and ability to work against multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to transform teams and systems in support of scaling needs

  • Seasoned technical leader with a propensity for improving quality, observability, and security

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with key stakeholders and drive technical decisions forward

  • Proficiency in working with distributed systems and at least some of the elements of our technology stack
