Your role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our API Engineering Team. This individual will manage multiple Agile teams comprised of highly skilled engineers responsible for migrating legacy APIs to modern cloud-native systems using the AWS Serverless stack.

This role will also focus on the design and management of APIs and integrations essential to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-centric enterprise solutions. As an engineering manager will work closely with product, design, and architecture teams.

Required experience, education and skills:

  • You will manage and oversee APIHUB Platform and Engineering team and will be responsible for on schedule delivery of high-quality Agile releases of API Products.
  • You will work cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers across multiple teams in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • You will partner with and enable business app developers to design, develop and publish their APIs and documentation to the API developer Portal and provide a self-service portal for the internal and external users while focusing on scalability, maintainability, and reuse.
  • Work with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to augment our holistic APIHUB platform strategy and API Governance.
  • Works with multiple Application Agile teams to align their delivery dependencies to the APIHUB Platform release schedule. 
  • Working in a scaled multi team agile environment, the Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring that the teams are working on the highest priority items and are complying will all of the process milestones to ensure that each release goes into production with the highest quality possible.
  • Supports multiple Agile teams utilizing a servant leader approach. 
  • Participates and provides guidance into the continuous improvement of the agile process.
  • Leverages knowledge and experience of the API Management lifecycle to provide context and background in communications up to the executive level.  
  • Working with people from all areas of CSAA IG, vendors and trading partners, contributes to developing solutions and serves as an advisor and consultant on technology trends, issues, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Makes recommendations to business stakeholders on technology opportunities and provides the means to implement them within considerations for priority and available budgets and resources.
  • Responsible for concurrent management of several large programs and projects, and their coordination with other initiatives within the Enterprise and each other
  • Utilizes processes, metrics and reporting tools that benefit the customer and ensure project goals and internal/external customer expectations are met or exceeded
  • Provide technical direction and support for designing cloud-native architectures using AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.), and oversee the integration of various internal and third-party systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient API Communication.
  • Lead the design, development, and management of RESTful APIs and microservices that power CSAA Enterprise API solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient communication between systems.
  • Guide your team in best practices for coding, cloud infrastructure, Api design , integrations, and DevOps processes. Perform code reviews and ensure the team’s work adheres to high-quality standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends, particularly in cloud services and payment solutions, to recommend and implement innovative approaches that improve business outcomes.

What will make us excited about you?

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a management role leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong background in cloud computing, with extensive experience in AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions).
  • Proven experience in migrating legacy applications to modern architectures.
  • Expertise in Api Design and Full life cycle management specifically in building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices for scalable, reliable, and secure cloud applications.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience working on API Platforms, preferably in the financial services, insurance, or fintech sectors.
  • Creates a collaborative, inclusive and psychologically safe environment, demonstrating authenticity and fostering trust to inspire and empower team members and colleagues

  • Demonstrates a company ownership mindset, thinking beyond boundaries of their own area
  • Travels as needed for role, including enterprise meetings, divisional / team meetings, and other in-person meetings
  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

The national average salary range for this position is $152,010- $168,900. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] [hourly rate range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $136,710-$202,500.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15% of eligible pay.
