The Position: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. The Engineering Manager role is accountable for building, leading high-performing engineering team that delivers valuable, technically sound solutions for Hexagon Mining customers.

This position will be accountable for the following, not limited to;

• Technical Leadership Define engineering governance, quality, technical health, and development practises across the product, platform or technology area
• Project Delivery - successful delivery of agreed project outcomes, including scope, schedule, and quality
• Stakeholder Relations – collaborate and engage with a broad diverse stakeholder group cross functionally and globally to deliver to business and customer needs
• People Leadership - you will lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, supporting their growth and engagement at Hexagon. You will play an active role in key people leadership activities across the employee lifecycle, including performance conversations, development planning, onboarding support and team capability building, in partnership with People & Culture.

This is a permanent full time position that will require 1-2 weeks travel per quarter.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, Technical Lead with a background in technology product development, who is ready for a role where your expertise and skill will play a pivotal role in the growth of Hexagon Mining.

In addition, we are seeking those with the following skills or attributes;

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Background in Software Engineer product development, with exposure to complex, long lived customer facing technology
• Broad technical knowledge across software engineering practises across architecture, design, testing, DevOps and delivery processes
• Prior experience in people leadership and exposure to full employee lifecycle duties.
• Proven success in leading high-performance team cultures both within the team and wider stakeholder global group
• Strong communication skills, ability to build cohesive relations across diverse stakeholder group
• Ability to build collaborative team cultures while driving accountability, execution and delivery outcomes.
• Valid Australian working rights, -permanent residency or citizenship

Nice to Have

• Experience working with hybrid software-hardware systems, e.g. robotics, automotive, industrial automation, etc
• Experience working with complex products, legacy systems, hardware and software integration, and/or large-scale technical debt reduction
• Specialized technical knowledge in a relevant domain, e.g. robotics, automotive, GNSS, optimization, data science, or similar domains
• Familiarity with engineering delivery, quality, and organizational health metrics
• Experience leading organizational change and scaling engineering teams
