About The Role

As an Engineering Manager on the foundations team you’ll lead a team of Software Engineers dedicated to ensuring that the rest of the engineering organization has a robust, scalable, reliable foundation upon which they can build their features. You will collaborate closely with Stakeholders to ensure our core API and services have the guidance, documentation, and functionality they need. You’ll be responsible for reviewing technical solutions to problems centered around the operation of our entire platform. You’ll even get your hands dirty from time to time to ensure our platform is the best that it can be.

What You’ll Do

  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
  • Lead a team that deliver a stable, effective, and usable platform
  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled Software Engineers while fostering a collaborative environment with Stakeholders
  • Take charge of the team's overall performance, ensuring strategic project goals are met with technical excellence
  • Manage the goals and development plans of individual team members to ensure that they’re learning and growing
  • Recruit, interview, and hire exceptional talent for the team

What We Need

  • 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, API design, and interactions between servers and clients
  • Significant experience developing applications in team environments.
  • Able to research and synthesize new technologies (frameworks, libraries, techniques) and explain and evangelize them to more junior engineers
  • One or more of the following experiences:
  • Experience with architecting and building interfaces for a core API
  • Experience working with GraphQL
  • Backend language experience, preferably Python (Flask/Django/etc.)
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

Compensation: 

  • Base: $195,000
  • Base + Bonus Target: $260,000
  • This role is eligible to participate in Invisible’s equity plan.

The amount listed above is the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
