About the Team & the Role
Our Network & Infrastructure Observability (NIO) domain is a core part of SolarWinds Observability (SWO)—a modern, cloud-native platform that helps customers understand and operate complex hybrid IT environments.
NIO focuses on how customers monitor and manage their networks and infrastructure in the cloud, including areas like network performance, topology, collectors, SD-WAN, IPAM, discovery, configuration, and API-based monitoring.
SWO is a modern cloud platform built with technologies like .NET and React, focused on building new capabilities rather than maintaining legacy systems.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one or more Scrum teams of software engineers in this domain. You will collaborate closely with two other Engineering Managers in Brno and jointly contribute to leading 10 Scrum teams within NIO.
This role combines people leadership and technical understanding, with a focus on building strong teams, delivering customer value, and ensuring smooth execution. You will work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX, SRE, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality cloud services used by thousands of customers worldwide.

- Hire, onboard, and develop engineers, including senior engineers and tech leads.
- Support career growth, provide regular feedback, and drive performance management.
- Foster a positive, proactive, and collaborative team culture.
- Ensure your teams deliver reliably and predictably in an agile environment.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to translate priorities into execution.
- Help teams balance feature delivery, technical debt, and operational work.
- Remove blockers, improve processes, and increase team effectiveness.
- Support resolution of escalations and critical issues when needed.
- Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to define and execute roadmaps aligned with customer needs and business goals.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable cloud services.
- Balance feature delivery, technical debt, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Support, Customer Success, and Sales on escalations and critical customer issues.
- Drive improvements in usability, performance, and overall customer experience.
- Promote the use of AI as a daily engineering tool (e.g., GitHub Copilot and similar technologies).
- Encourage teams to leverage AI to improve productivity, code quality, and development workflows.
- Collaborate on building AI-powered product capabilities within observability.
- Foster an AI-first mindset across teams and continuously explore new opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or similar leadership role) in a product engineering environment.
- Strong ability to lead, motivate, and grow engineering teams.
- Experience with SW development
- Experience working in agile environments with Scrum teams.
- Strong customer focus and understanding of production systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, UX, SRE, and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to align people around shared goals.
Communications:

- Proactive, energetic, and positive approach to leadership.
- Ownership mindset with strong execution focus.
- Ability to create clarity in complex environments.
- Empathy toward both customers and team members.
