ABOUT THE POSITION

Linxup is searching for a talented Engineering Manager to lead our growing Mobile Software Engineering team. Our customers love and rely on our iOS and Android applications, and the Engineering Manager will be responsible for upholding those expectations by embracing Linxup's mission to Simplify the Complicated. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to both manage a distributed software engineering team as well as provide strong technical direction and oversight for our mobile applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide hands-on leadership for a growing engineering team
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of our mobile applications
  • Actively lead system, technical, and user experience design discussions
  • Mentor and train talented engineers, encouraging their continued growth
  • Enforce adherence to standards and best practices via design and code reviews
  • Collaborate closely with other leaders on cross-team projects, ensuring consistent design and coordinating dependencies
  • Develop and document API specifications as required by the mobile apps, with a focus on scalability, reuse, and extensibility
  • Serve as the go-to technical representative and subject matter expert for the Mobile Engineering team within the organization
  • Maintain the mobile app build/CI pipeline
  • Assist with oversight of app store listings, including release management and monitoring analytics, Crashlytics, and user reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of development with either Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) platforms; both is preferred
  • Experience with designing and using RESTful APIs to access backend services
  • Strong knowledge of modern user experience design principles, patterns, and best practices, including handling multiple screen sizes
  • Experience with multi-threading, and performance monitoring and optimization
  • Knowledge of the open-source ecosystem and common mobile libraries
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Proficient understanding of source code management and review tools
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and build automation
  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile methodologies is highly preferred
