Your Impact On Our Mission
As the Engineering Manager for our Scheduling team, you work closely with our Product, Engineering and Design team to enable practices to help patients find them and book care with them directly on their website and through non-Zocdoc Marketplace marketing channels. Your leadership of this product engineering team will result in us shipping quickly with the right amount of investment in infrastructure, bettering our product and improving the lives of millions of patients. Your dedication to building a culture of transparency, inclusion, and support will help ensure that our engineering is always evolving and growing. Your ability to combine technical capabilities, digging into details to unblock teams and steer through complex engineering tradeoffs, with business knowledge and context is crucial for the success of Zocdoc.

Your Day To Day Is…
- Leading, managing, and growing a team of full-stack software engineers to deliver highly reliable, performant software solutions
- Partnering with product to build out a clear technical and product strategy and roadmap
- Working across the organization on Engineering Culture, helping to build career ladders, steering cross-team events, and helping build an inclusive technology workforce
- Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers to maintain a high quality of work, while delivering new features with high velocity
- Making sure we are building out the platform’s capabilities with attention to security, scale, performance, and uptime
You’ll Be Successful In This Role If You Have…
- 6+ years of experience in software development, preferably at a company whose product or service is mainly driven by software
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or team lead, ideally having managed 5+ direct reports previously while maintaining some amount of individual contribution
- Experience working with microservice architectures and AWS / cloud environment
- AWS, React JS/frontend development, C# / backend development
- Some educational background in computer science fundamentals, A deep knowledge of software development methodologies
- Experience working across the stack - both frontend and backend
- Experience working on consumer-facing products, Shipped multiple product features to external customers, either as an IC or Manager
- Passion for understanding the use cases of your customers and a focus on collaboration
- Solid communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and build consensus with engineers at all levels
- The mentality of an entrepreneur/owner and a strong bias to action
- Humility. You believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of title or tenure, and you approach tough conversations with empathy
