This role leads a team of project engineers and designers supporting high-mix, custom electrical panel design and execution for protection and control systems, working closely with manufacturing, project management, supply chain, and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the panel design engineering function, ensuring team capacity, resource allocation, and execution plans align with project demand and priorities, and that technical deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
2. Drive technical direction and standardization within the panel design discipline.
3. Lead team planning, including capacity planning and development of the long-term strategy for the panel design discipline.
4. Lead, hire, develop, and manage a team of engineers; set clear expectations, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with business and organizational goals.
5. Represent engineering in customer engagements, design reviews, and cross-functional initiatives to improve quality, cost, and lead time.
6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience
8+ years of related engineering or management experience
Demonstrated experience managing engineering work within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies
Demonstrated ability to develop employees and lead high-performing teams
Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes
Ability to lead technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challenges
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Knowledge of applicable standards (IPC, UL, NEC, IEEE, IEC)

Pay Range Data: $136,100-201,100 per year
