We are seeking an Engineering Manager for DevOps who thrives on leading by example in both technical direction and people management. This role will require you to be hands-on with the codebase, oversee technical architecture, and guide teams to execute on a high level, while also managing the growth and development of engineers on your team. The ideal candidate will enjoy diving into technical challenges and mentoring others, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership (70%)

  • Architect and Design Solutions: Take ownership of technical roadmaps and ensure the systems you’re responsible for are robust, scalable, and aligned with company goals
  • Hands-on Coding: Spend a portion of your time contributing directly to the codebase, performing code reviews, and maintaining high-quality standards across the team
  • Guide Technical Decisions: Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to make informed decisions on technology choices and trade-offs
  • System Performance and Scalability: Drive initiatives to improve system efficiency, scalability, and reliability
  • Mentor and Develop: Provide technical mentorship to your team, helping them grow in their areas of expertise and guiding them through complex technical problems

People Management (30%)

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers by fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance environment
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and provide feedback to support individual growth and team cohesion
  • Career Development: Identify opportunities for professional development and ensure the team has the resources and support to grow
  • Hiring and Onboarding: Work closely with recruitment to identify and hire top talent and ensure smooth onboarding processes for new hires
  • Agile Leadership: Act as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach for your team, ensuring effective sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement. Help the team prioritize tasks, maintain focus on deliverables, and drive productivity while adhering to Agile principles

Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automating builds, tests, and deployments
  • Strong experience with GitHub for source control, including branch management, pull requests, and automated testing workflows
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and DevOps practices, ensuring continuous integration and continuous delivery of cloud applications
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, with a focus on infrastructure performance and application uptime
  • A development background is a strong plus, particularly experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and tooling
  • Experience with CD management with Argo also a bonus
  • 6+ Years Experience in the DevOps
  • 2+ years of Azure Cloud
  • Scope of Responsibility: Full Product
  • Mentor Senior & Principal Engineer & Engineering Managers
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams, ideally in a technical lead or engineering manager capacity
  • Agile Management: Proven experience in managing teams in an Agile environment, including leading Scrum or Kanban processes and promoting Agile best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide both technical discussions and career development conversations
