Webflow is the AI-native platform that lets anyone build, manage, and scale powerful, code-free web experiences.
The Role
Lead the Webflow Analyze team in building analytics and conversion products, driving technical direction while balancing hands-on coding and team management.
Summary Generated by Built In

At Webflow, we're building the world's leading Agentic Marketing Experience Platform, and we're doing it as a remote-first company built on trust, transparency, and a whole lot of creativity. This work takes grit, because we move fast, without ever sacrificing craft or quality. Our mission is to bring development superpowers to everyone. From entrepreneurs launching their first idea to global enterprises scaling their digital presence, we empower teams to design, launch, and optimize for the web without barriers. We believe the future of the web, and work, is more open, more creative, and more equitable. And we're here to build it together.
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help lead the technical future of Convert — our suite of products that give marketing and growth teams the tools to experiment, personalize, and drive real revenue from their web presence.

The next chapter is ambitious: we're serving some of the world’s largest enterprises and rethinking what a modern, AI-native conversion platform can be. This is a cross-team technical leadership role, which means you’re working across a large, complex, revenue-generating system and figuring out what it needs to become. You'll partner directly with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and Design to turn that vision into something you can actually ship.

About the role:
  • Location: Remote-first (Argentina)
  • Full-time
  • Permanent

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

Please visit our Careers page for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.

  • Application Information:
    • Application deadline: applications accepted on an ongoing basis until position is closed and filled
    • This posting is for an existing vacancy
  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Convert

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

  • Set the long-term technical vision and architecture for backend systems powering experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization across Webflow.
  • Architect and evolve high-throughput distributed systems and APIs that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of visitor and event data with low latency, high availability, and strong consistency guarantees where it matters.
  • Lead foundational platform investments and the data infrastructure that supports them, that unlock new product capabilities for years to come.
  • Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product engineers to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities into reliable, real-time backend infrastructure.
  • Lead complex, multi-team, multi-quarter technical initiatives end-to-end: from problem framing and technical strategy through implementation, launch, and long-term operational ownership.
  • Influence the engineering roadmap and technical strategy across the Convert pillar and partner pillars, identifying the highest-leverage investments and aligning teams behind them.
  • Raise the engineering bar across the org through architecture review, technical standards, observability and operational excellence practices, and the systems and tooling that support long-term quality.
  • Mentor and grow staff and senior engineers, multiplying your impact through the people you develop and the technical culture you help shape.
  • Stay current with industry trends in distributed systems, experimentation platforms, real-time data, and AI/ML infrastructure, and proactively identify opportunities to advance Webflow's backend platform and engineering practices.
  • Translate product vision into concrete technical problems and execution plans.
About you:

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Bring 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on expertise building and operating backend systems and distributed systems at scale.
  • Have a strong technical foundation in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with solid fluency in modern frameworks, distributed systems patterns, and system design.
  • Have designed, built, and operated high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems in production — with a strong understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, consistency tradeoffs, observability, and performance optimization.
  • Have demonstrated technical leadership on complex initiatives, influencing architecture and execution within and beyond your immediate team.
  • Partner effectively with product, design, data science, and ML stakeholders to translate business needs and customer outcomes into scalable technical solutions.
  • Bring strong judgment, communicate clearly with technical audiences, and make pragmatic tradeoffs in fast-moving environments.
  • Demonstrate a proactive embrace of AI, actively building and applying fluency in emerging technologies to elevate how we work and drive faster outcomes.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with experimentation platforms (A/B testing, feature flagging, multi-armed bandits), personalization or recommendation systems, marketing analytics, or customer data platforms.
  • Familiarity with the statistical foundations of online experimentation (variance reduction, sequential testing, CUPED, etc.) and the infrastructure required to support them at scale.
  • Experience with Node.js and TypeScript in large production systems is a plus, but not required.
Our Core Behaviors:
  • Build lasting customer trust. We build trust by taking action that puts customer trust first.
  • Win together. We play to win, and we win as one team. Success at Webflow isn't a solo act.
  • Reinvent ourselves. We don't just improve what exists, we imagine what's possible.
  • Deliver with speed, quality, and craft. We move fast because the moment demands it, and we do so without lowering the bar.
Benefits
  • Ownership in what you help build. Every permanent Webflower receives equity (RSUs) in our growing, privately held company.
  • Health coverage that actually covers you. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for full-time employees and their dependents, with Webflow covering most premiums.
  • Support for every stage of family life. 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents and 6+ weeks of additional paid leave for birthing parents. Plus inclusive care for family planning, menopause, and midlife transitions.
  • Time off that’s actually off. Flexible vacation, paid holidays, and a sabbatical program to help you recharge and come back inspired.
  • Wellness for the whole you. Access to mental health resources, therapy and coaching.
  • Invest in your future. A 401(k) with 100% employer match (up to $6,000/year) in the U.S., and support for retirement savings globally.
  • Monthly stipends that flex with your life. Localized support for work and wellness expenses — from Wi-Fi to workouts.
  • Bonus for building together. All full-time, permanent, non-commission employees are eligible for our annual WIN bonus program.

Temporary employees may be eligible for paid holiday and time off, statutory leaves of absence, and company-sponsored medical benefits depending on their Fixed Term Contract and their country/state of employment.
