Engineering Manager, Cloudflare One

What You'll Do
You will lead a team of passionate, talented engineers that are building critical features in Cloudflare One's Zero Trust security platform. Throughout this product suite, we have offerings ranging from ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Architecture), to SWG (Secure Web Gateway), CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), and many more that encompass a holistic platform to help secure some of the world's most important and forward-looking organizations. Your team will directly spearhead a variety of innovative new product features across the whole product portfolio, and directly collaborate with many engineering teams while doing so. You will play an active part in shaping product strategy based on what's technically possible. You will make sure our company hits our ambitious goals from an engineering standpoint.
You bring a passion for meeting business needs with technically innovative solutions and excel at shifting between the two-understanding how big-picture goals inform technical details, and vice-versa. You thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment and have experience in delivering scalable distributed systems. Most importantly, you have a track record of past teams who respect you as both a technical leader and manager.
Technologies we use -

• Core backend and API services are written in Go, Rust, and Python.
• Our frontend is written in Typescript and React.
• We utilize Clickhouse, Postgres, and TimescaleDB as our data stores.
• Redis is our cache.
• Kafka plays a large role at Cloudflare and this team with message streaming.
• For service monitoring we use Prometheus and Grafana.
• For service logging we use Elasticsearch and Kibana

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience -

• 3+ years experience in engineering management
• Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in software design, and building large, distributed systems
• Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability
• Demonstrate a track record of managing a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development. You inspire your team to reach higher. You're as good at explaining "why" as you are "how"
• Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages
• Comfortable managing teams/projects with competing priorities and short release cycles
• Continued personal interest in software engineering with an approach of understanding and helping guide the technical implementation details
• Ability to navigate technical and process hurdles necessary to drive complex projects across the finish line
