About Harmon
Harmon is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design and engineering of exterior curtain wall systems while working alongside experienced engineers and industry professionals.
As an Engineering Intern, you will learn the fundamentals of facade engineering, project design, and construction documentation while contributing to real-world projects. Through mentorship and practical experience, you will develop technical skills and gain exposure to the engineering processes that support some of the most innovative building projects across North America.
What You'll Do:
As an Engineering Intern, you will:
- Support the design and engineering of exterior curtain wall systems.
- Learn to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, and project specifications.
- Assist with coordinating engineering calculations and shop drawings.
- Support project evaluations, material take-offs, and proposal development.
- Gain knowledge of Harmon products, services, operations, and engineering processes.
- Learn and apply thermal analysis and structural analysis methodologies and software.
- Develop engineering calculations and technical deliverables for proposals and projects.
- Assist with reviewing blueprints and construction drawings to produce engineering documentation.
- Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) tools to support engineering and design activities.
- Assist Designers in creating proposal and project drawings using AutoCAD and 3D AutoCAD.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of engineering software tools, databases, and drafting standards.
- Participate in meetings with architects, general contractors, and project teams to discuss design solutions and project requirements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve design processes.
- Apply Continuous Improvement principles to daily work and support operational excellence initiatives.

- Or a related engineering field
- Junior or Senior standing preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience working on complex building facade and curtain wall projects.
- Exposure to engineering design, analysis, and project execution processes.
- Training in industry-leading engineering software and tools.
