Engineering Coordinator
One of your primary roles as an Engineering Coordinator on our team is to manage Part Number Setup and First Articles parts for 50-80 ongoing projects defined by engineers in the Product Development teams. You will manage the First Article from part number creation through to final testing using ERP demand, production orders, supply planning, inventory pulls, return, and closeout. You will start under the training of our current Engineering Coordinator with the intention of becoming the lead over the Part Number Setup and First Articles parts within 2-3 months. Our current Engineering Coordinator will then focus on other responsibilities as desired by both the current Engineering Coordinator and management. Our pumps are all designed and tested here by our Product Development Team at our Tucson facility. As a core part of the 20 person Product Development team working in our office you will be actively working with engineers and designers working in the cubicles and offices around your cubicle. The assembly and testing you are a part of will happen here at our lab just a two minute walk from your cubicle. You will get to see the products and testing you help drive to completion in action. An Engineering or technical degree is not required for this role but any related experience is a plus.
Your responsibilities will include
- Creating part numbers and routes in PLM systems such as Enovia and Team Center and ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 ERP as requested by designer and engineers.
- •Edits and releases IOMs and Technical documents as directed by an engineer or the product development team.
- As you gain experience you will start to take more initiative in developing IOMs and documentation. You will go beyond editing from redlines and beyond following specific instructions to start to drive documentation and IOMs. An example is that you would interview PD Engineer or designers and create first drafts of IOMs and Engineeering documents.
- Assists with the documentation including photos, reports, emails and more for First Articles and Testing with guidance and support from the Engineers and Product Development team.
- Send drawings and 3D model computer files to partners, foundries and vendors as requested.
- Coordinate special project upgrades by marking up appropriate redlines, tasking in SharePoint or other methods and giving proper direction to design. The direction will come from Engineers or designers, but the coordinator will do the detailed or repetitive work and will follow up and ensure the required work is completed before sending to the Engineer or Designer for final review and approval.
- Check drawings for consistency, cosmetic and grammatical errors, and release drawings, as needed.
- Composes and sends routine correspondence. Scan and distribute correspondence as needed. At direction of engineers and others on the team compiles and edits text, data, reports, summaries, tests and more. Typically using emails, word documents, excel and PowerPoints using Microsoft software. But other software may be required for tasks and appropriate training will be provided.
- Creates engineering documents (i.e., engineering specifications, paint specifications, engineering procedures) with the help of a PM/PE, as needed.
- Coordinate and arrange in-house meetings, records, and transcribes minutes of meetings.
- Additional responsibilities will be required as assigned.
Experience with the specific programs used at FLSmidth is not required but experience in similar systems for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
We are looking for you to demonstrate your ability to get results in administration, teams, technical projects or similar is critical.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Demonstrates a proficiency to operate a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations, Email, personal information management and specialized programs relating to job function. Proficient use of Windows Programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Monday.com, Microsoft Visio, network share drives, Dynamics 365, Enovia ERP systems, PLM systems and knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
