The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

HOURLY:

$21.60 - $26.46

POSITION TYPE : WINTER TERM

VACANCY STATUS:

Immediate, Open Position

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Define and execute the required actions and processes to complete projects or assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager or Program Manager.
•    Create and document all procedures and methods required by the project
•    Conduct regular follow-up meetings with the Team
•    Report out to Management on the progress of the tasks
•    Visit external suppliers to support program trials and activities
•    Perform work on project to be directed by Department Manager
•    Perform work on projects as directed by the Program Manager 
•    Meet aggressive project time lines (generally very tight)
•    Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace 
•    Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
•    Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
•    Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
•    Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF-16949 standards
•    Work within the guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
•    Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
•    Must have Valid Driver’s License and vehicle/own transportation
•    Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
•    Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineer program or related field of study
EXPERIENCE:
•    Experience working with external suppliers an asset
•    Experience heading process meetings with necessary associates an asset
•    Manufacturing experience involving Injection Moulding Machines an asset
SKILLS:
•    Knowledge and experience with writing Build Standards/Standard Operating Procedures an asset
•    Proficiency in AutoCAD; AutoCAD Light and SpinFire
•    Good verbal and written communication skills 
•    Computer literate in word & spreadsheet programs
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Well-developed organizational and time management skills
•    Ability to work independently
