About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Quality Engineer that will bereporting to our Quality Engineering Manager on our R&D team.
This role is a great opportunity for those who are excited about the possibility of building and automating our current QA processes as well as our automated functional/non-functional tests, in partnership with our cross-functional teams (Product, DevOps & SWEs). The Quality Engineer will also have the opportunity to create manual test plans.

What you'll do
- Results-oriented: Work closely with our DevOps team to incorporate the automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure bug free releases to Production
- Proactive: Identify areas of improvement as well as additional key workflows for automation and start adding them to appropriate test suites
- Self-starter: Building out automated functional test suites (Regression and E2E tests for Web platforms and backend API) and non-functional test suites (Web A11y). Aid in manual testing to ensure the features are working as defined in the acceptance criteria.
- Forward-thinking: Learn new technologies and advocate for high quality software development
- Detail-oriented: Help creating best practices around test frameworks, documenting processes and documenting results for the broader team
What you'll bring
- Experience level: 5+ years of experience working in a high growth product environment building test automation suites and manual testing experience
- Technical knowledge: Experienced with programming languages, including Ruby (nice to have) and Javascript/TypeScript (preferred) or any other object oriented programming language
- Automated Testing: proficiency with automated testing tools like Playwright (preferred) and/or Cypress is a must. Experience with DevOps practices related to building CI CD pipelines
- Best practices: Knowledge of manual QA testing practices
- Problem solving: Excellent Troubleshooting and triage skills
Pay transparency
Ontra considers candidate location and experience when evaluating compensation levels. Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as variable compensation, which is not included in the base pay range below. Base pay range
$146,000 - $204,000 USD
