Job Description Summary:
The PayPal Credit Organization is looking for a Node.JS/React Engineer to join its Credit User Experience development team. We are a diverse Agile team that is responsible for the applications that deliver PayPal Credit products to our US and international customers. We are a strategic part of the PayPal business plan with important revenue-generating projects that will impact overall company performance. As a Software Engineer 3 you will assist us in building the solutions that will power the next generation of PayPal Credit products.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be a full-stack developer with back-end experience in Node.JS and some proficiency in React and supporting front-end technologies. The position requires collaboration with the other team members to design, build, and maintain the PayPal Credit products that are integrated into the broader PayPal platform.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Agile team to clarify the new products and features requested by the Product team
  • Collaborate with other developers to design and implement the required solutions
  • Participate in pair programming in the delivery of both POC and targeted features
  • Understand and apply our technical architecture to ensure consistent, reliable, and secure deployments.
  • Enhance and maintain existing product capabilities
  • Participate in formal and informal code reviews to ensure code quality
  • Actively contribute to the automated test suite to enable continuous integration
  • Assist with application deployments in our Cloud environment


Required Job Skills:

  • Proficient with Functional and Object-Oriented JavaScript/ES6+ coding
  • Proficient with Node.JS and Express application design and development
  • Proficient with React or other front-end frameworks (e.g. Angular, Vue)
  • Proficient with HTML5 and CSS3
  • Proficient with Webpack and other build and packaging systems
  • Proficient writing automated unit and functional tests
  • Proficient with Git source control and effective branching and release management practices
  • Proficient creating user interfaces and resolving cross-browser and backward compatibility issues
  • Ability to debug, diagnose and resolve complex JavaScript bugs throughout the stack


Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with RESTful web services and SOA concepts
  • Experience with analytic instrumentation, querying with Hive/Hadoop, Teradata, Kibana or Splunk
  • Experience with Enterprise Java and supporting Java frameworks
