The goal of the MCDS team is to foster a data-driven culture. We are looking for a self-starting and ambitious Sr. Information Architect to help share our data science insights throughout Microsoft as strategic knowledge assets. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for both strategy and execution around organizing and analyzing data science content in such a way as to provide the information needed for business decision makers throughout Microsoft to make decisions and complete tasks. The content can be any range of data science work products including finished analyses, works in progress, numeric records, text, images, videos, data streams, and more. In this role you will be the key person responsible for gathering business and technical requirements, determining how the data science work products are to be created, stored, analyzed, accessed, and presented, and then execute using relevant and readily available technology components to deliver needed information in a usable form. This role is flexible in that you will be able to work from home or the office.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities

  • You will formulate Information Architecture strategies, collaborate with others at multiple levels on their review and approval, and be responsible for their timely execution, meeting all milestone dates and deadlines, and using relevant and readily available technology components.
  • You will assemble, manage, and present collections of data science finished assets and metacommentary in an organized way to increase knowledge and inform decision-making.
  • You will manage collections of work-in-progress assets, related documentation, and metacommentary in an organized way so that it can be readily located by team members at all levels.
  • You will manage the content and production of key PowerPoint decks to tell the story of the capabilities of the organization for use with internal and external audiences and stakeholders.
  • You will develop and promulgate a Data Science Deliverables Framework in collaboration, consultation, and partnership with data scientist individual contributors and leaders as well as organizational leaders.
  • You will develop a network of Information Architecture peers and leaders across Microsoft to serve as consultants on existing and future work and contribute to the ongoing development of the field within and outside Microsoft.
  • You will promote your work on seeding data science insights throughout Microsoft and determine and collect relevant statistics to paint a picture of its effectiveness, which you will present to leadership on a regular basis.
  • You will play an integral role in overall data insights presentation and storytelling, helping data scientists and other members of the team tell the story of how Microsoft does data science.

Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Architecture AND 6+ years of relevant work experience in corporate Information Architecture or Knowledge Management | OR 10 years of relevant work experience in corporate Information Architecture or Knowledge Management.
  • Two or more years of experience in data science.

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong curiosity about technology and its role in shaping our future, with an appetite for continuous learning .
  • A talent for collaborating effectively and diplomatically with data science, program management, and data engineering teams across the organization , and professionally representing the team to internal and external partners and stakeholders .
  • Experience in the technology industry .
  • Experience working closely and successfully with executives is a plus.
