Job Description Reporting to the Director, Security Architecture, the Security Architect is essential to providing technical consulting that meets business needs for security, reliability, scalability, and availability across the enterprise. To assess the design, deployment infrastructure and application security of products or solutions to ensure the health and wellbeing of our business, both on premise and within cloud infrastructure.
Support the research, development and documentation of new Security technologies through testing, rating and reporting on various potential solutions with the objective of recommending the best solution for the current environment. Play a role in Information Technology testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure Security is configured, rated, and considered in the selection and design process.
Security Architect Responsibilities:

  • Complete architectural designs on innovative new projects and improve existing business processes and IT systems to ensure security is developed from the ground up.
  • Coordinate and work with cross-functional and development units as a Security Subject Matter Expert
  • Develop security non-functional requirements and design patterns, supporting our IT and Application Architects
  • Support Threat Modelling workshops across all applications and infrastructure within the company.
  • Create or modify security documentation for systems
  • Present security recommendations and implement improvements to the security of new or existing applications, services and infrastructure.
  • Define security practices and standards to ensure that the security of applications, services and infrastructure are delivered to meet the needs of the business.


Required Tools & Technology:

  • Clear understanding of complex software and system interactions
  • Practical experience delivering secure architectures
  • Knowledge or ideally experience across threat modelling applications, services and infrastructure
  • Practical experience reviewing engineering designs and enhancing security solutions against company standards
  • Experience designing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into public cloud services
  • 7 years + of experience in Security: offensive and defensive hacking, vulnerability assessments / programs, mitigation programs, and similar experiences


Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other similar technical degree, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to determine user requirements and establish the appropriate Security Controls necessary
  • Cloud Architecture, design and security experience.
  • CISSP, GCIA, CEH, GPEN, OSCP, SABSA, TOGAF or similar security certifications would be beneficial
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect -


"The typical pay scale for this role is between $125,000 and $165,000. This compensation range is specific to CT - and may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. In addition, the role may be eligible for incentives earned as part of the Annual Incentive plan which is discretionary and based on the performance of the firm, the business unit and the individual."
