SDV- Senior Systems Software Architect
Description
Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This new platform Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) shall seamlessly connect in-vehicle computing controls with cloud and edge computing resources.
This position is to develop cutting edge Infotainment systems. It will be responsible to understanding the end-to-end Infotainment software architecture and ensuring optimal implementations of new features on this architecture. Functional partitioning of features across core infotainment modules, the back office, mobile apps and other vehicle modules will be key. This position will also be responsible for directing architectural changes as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with software architects to understand the capabilities and limitations of the existing software architecture.
- Collaborate with existing owners of new features to understand the expectation of the feature and devise a plan to implement the feature on the existing software architecture.
- Drive technical discussions to bridge feature requests to software execution plans. Document all agreements.
- Propose software architecture enhancements to enable or optimize new feature execution
Additional Description
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical engineering
- Thorough understanding of embedded automotive software
- 2+ years of Linux & Android experience
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN and Ethernet)
- Agile and DFMEA experience
- Excellent communication skill
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of professional experience
- Understanding of cloud based systems, Cyber security experience, Mobile App experience
- Master degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical engineering
