FullStory’s mission is to improve user experiences everywhere online. That starts with ensuring that the FullStory product itself is reflective of the quality we want to drive on the internet: seamless, stable, and bug-free. Our challenges on this front are somewhat unique: not only do we think about the quality of the FullStory web application and APIs, but also our web and mobile experience capture technologies, which run on millions of end-user devices around the world.

We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to champion, extend, and grow our test automation practice. As manager, you will work both with the team’s QA automation engineers and also the broader engineering organization to develop standardized approaches and practices. You’ll mentor the engineers on the team and collaborate with them to find the best technical approaches to our test automation challenges. Our ultimate goal is to gain leverage from economies of scale while also addressing the unique needs of each domain the product team works in.

We use many established technologies like Selenium Webdriver, Appium, Jest, Cypress, BrowserStack and Jasmine, and are also open minded to new ideas.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Mentor and lead our Test Engineering practice, working closely with engineers embedded in teams across the organization
  • Define and document organizational testing methodologies and best practices (e.g., unit, integration, functional, regression, smoke)
  • Inspect for testing inefficiencies and define test suite service level agreement (SLA) and roadmap for improvement
  • Ensure and maintain adherence to best practices and testing policies

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 8+ years of experience in software testing, enterprise application implementation and testing, browser UI automation, quality assurance and/or similar
  • Has experience as a manager or technical leader/architect
  • Has experience improving developer velocity, code, quality, and health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks)
  • Has experience creating test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and/or debugging

It would be amazing if:

  • You love testing enterprise applications, mobile applications, and/or networking systems
  • You’re an engineer at heart and passionate about software development
  • You delight in working with web and mobile applications

You might want to know what our stack looks like - here’s a glimpse:

  • GCP-based; heavy use of Cloud Datastore, BigQuery, Bigtable
  • Kubernetes (GKE), terraform, helm
  • Services written in Go; gRPC for APIs; prometheus for monitoring
  • React and Typescript on the frontend
  • Java, ObjC, and Rust for our mobile stack
  • Python and Jupyter for Data Science
  • Monorepo for our code: we’re one big happy (in-sync!) family
  • CircleCI-based continuous integration and team-based service ownership allow us to deploy software dozens of times per week
